RV Capital's 2022 Annual Gathering
Time & Location
About the Event
RV Capital's 2022 Annual Gathering will take place on the 15th and 16th January 2022 in the Hotel Terrace, Engelberg.
Details about how to register will appear on this page in the summer.
Investor Meeting – Saturday, 15th January 2022
The investor meeting will start at 9:00 am on Saturday. I will be there from 8:30 am onwards for a meet and greet. We will start with a fireside chat with the CEO of one of our companies. After that, we will pause for coffee. At 10:15 am, I will take Q&A. Feel free to ask me any question you like about how or where your savings are invested. The investor meeting will finish at Midday.
After the meeting, I encourage you to go out and discover Mount Titlis. Please note that whilst a significant number of the participants ski, the majority do not. There is plenty to do up the mountain for non-skiers. You can take the famous Rotair up to the ice cap, walk across a suspension bridge at 3’000 Metres, visit the igloo village or toboggan outside the Berghotel Trübsee (always a favourite with the kids). You can of course also just hang out with the other participants on the sun deck at Trübsee or Stand – I think you will find many like-minded people make the trek to Engelberg that weekend.
In the evening, there will be an informal reception at 6:00 pm at the Hotel Terrace. All attendees, as well as partners and children, are welcome to attend. If you do not plan to come or would like to bring along family members, please shoot me an email, so I can let the caterers know.
Emerging Manager Meeting – Sunday, 16 January 2022
The emerging manager meeting will start at 9:00 am on Sunday morning. The purpose of this meeting is to help the next generation of fund managers make the jump to independence. As was the case last year, there will be an opportunity to ask questions to a panel drawn from endowments, family offices and individual investors. These are the type of people you need to convince to place their capital with you, so why not hear directly from the horse’s mouth, what they look for in early-stage investment managers and their setup. The meeting will finish at Midday. After that, feel free to head home, or better still, back up the mountain.
Families are welcome. If you require childcare for smaller children during either of the morning sessions or the evening event, please send me an email ahead of the meeting and I will connect you with a babysitter.
For those of you who cannot be there in person, both days events will be live-streamed from my YouTube channel. The streams will begin at 9:00 am CET. If you would like to get a taste of the meeting, recordings of previous years’ events are available at the same place. The audio quality was not great last year – I promise an improvement next year.
Is the event only open to the fund’s investors?
Anyone who is passionate about investing is welcome to attend the event. It is not necessary to be an investor in the fund. The number of participants is limited though and tickets are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the maximum number of attendees is reached, you can add yourself to the waitlist. This does not apply to Investors in the fund, who can register at any time. I am also keen to encourage people who are underrepresented at these events to attend, in particular women, as well as people from distant places. If you are on the waitlist and feel this applies to you, send me an email and I will release a ticket.
What if I cannot make it?
It is no problem if your plans change, but I would appreciate it if you would cancel your registration as early as possible. This frees up your ticket for people on the waitlist.
Is there a dress code?
For the morning sessions, it makes sense to wear winter sports clothing in order to make a quick escape up the mountain at Midday. For the evening, the dress code is informal.
How do I get to Engelberg?
There is an excellent train connection from Zurich airport. Check out www.sbb.ch or Google Maps. Once you are in Engelberg, everything is walkable. In addition, there is a free local bus service.
I hope this covers everything. If not, feel free to reach out to me directly.
Otherwise, I look forward to seeing you all in Engelberg in 2022.
